This story tells of the coming of age of Sebastian, a shy librarian living with
his overbearing mother and working at a library. His only solace
lies in his obsession with Joan of Arc and everything surrounding her. He meets a young
grad student doing her thesis about Joan of Arc during the 100 Years' War and offers to lend
her books from their unavailable Joan of Arc collection. They form a brief friendship
until the young woman is given a grant to continue her studies in France. Sebastien
himself decides to move out and start his life anew.
