Provocative, unconventional and distinctive- Bastard Amber's mandate is to produce engaging films that tackle controversial topics while striving to push traditional boundaries.
Bastard Amber Productions was founded in 2000 by friends Patricia Gomez, Elza Kephart and Andrea Stark in order to produce their first feature, GRAVEYARD ALIVE - A ZOMBIE NURSE IN LOVE.
Bastard Amber's plans for 2004 include distribution of GRAVEYARD ALIVE to television and home video. Future projects include BROTHERS IN ARMS, a provocative drama dealing with fraternal incest in 1960's small-town America, SWEET BLOOD, a genre-bending vampire tale, and SLAXXX, a retro 80's slasher film about a possessed pair of pants who seeks revenge by killing high school girls.

Patricia Gomez is new to the filmmaking industry. She has been a fan of
horror films for years, but GRAVEYARD ALIVE is her first attempt at writing
and producing. After completing her Masters' in Ecology at the University of
Florida, she is now developing SLAXXX and SWEET BLOOD,
two more features which she is co-writing with Elza Kephart.

Elza Kephart -Writer/Director/Producer

Elza Kephart graduated from Emerson College in 1998 with a BFA in Visual & Media Arts. Upon returning to her native Montreal she founded Bastard Amber Productions with friends Andrea Stark and Patricia Gomez in order to produce their first feature, GRAVEYARD ALIVE-A ZOMBIE NURSE IN LOVE, which Kephart wrote and directed.
In 2002 Kephart co-wrote and directed NAUGHTY SOXXX, produced for CBC's Zed TV. After its first airing in the spring of 2002, NAUGHTY SOXXX went on to screen in several international film festivals, including Les rendez-vous du cinéma québecois and Corto in Circuito, where it was awarded the Cinemaniaca Prize.
Kephart recently graduated from the Canadian Film Center where
she attended the Director's Lab. She is now concentrating on developing
BROTHERS IN ARMS, a provocative feature dealing with fraternal incest in 1960's small-town America. Future projects include SWEET BLOOD, a genre-bending vampire drama, and STRANGE FIRE, a musical comedy about the Christian music industry.

Andrea Stark - Producer/Development Executive
BAH, Theater/Film Program - Queen's University, Kingston, ON
After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours from Queen's
University in Stage and Screen Studies, Andrea Stark briefly turned her
attention to the Montreal film community where she worked on a variety of
award winning documentaries and short films, one of which, THE ROGERS CABLE, was screened in the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. She now makes
Toronto her home.
